Fossano

The presence of Jews in Fossano is recorded from 1579. The ghetto was established in 1724 between the Salice and Romanisi districts. The highest number of residents was at the end of the 19th century, about 250 people, which gradually decreased. Before World War II, there were no longer any Jewish residents in the city.
The synagogue building, now disused, was demolished in the 1960s by the Municipality.
Now only the Jewish section within the municipal cemetery remains.
