Nizza Monferrato

A small Jewish community began to establish itself in Nizza Monferrato in the 16th century. The city ghetto arose on what is now Via Massimo D’Azeglio between 1732 and 1848. The building housed a synagogue, now dismantled, whose main furnishings have been relocated to the synagogue in Alessandria.
A small Jewish burial ground is located within the municipal cemetery. It houses a few tombs, some of which feature highly valuable sculptures.
